RV PAUKAN 2015 OVERVIEW

Launched in 2015, the lovely Paukan Princess (formerly RV Paukan 2015) is a charming floating hotel on the river which is the latest addition to Ayravata Cruises. This member of Paukan Cruises is one of the smallest cruisers on the Irrawaddy River designed to discover hard-to-reach destinations in this area, bring passengers authentic experiences in their Myanmar river cruise.

The ship is beautifully decorated with a unique blending of modern and traditional Burmese styles. With a small size, the Paukan Princess cruise consists of 4 decks including Lower Deck, Main Deck, Upper Deck, and Sun Deck. It has a capacity of total of 36 passengers with 18 spacious and luxurious cabins. All staterooms are luxurious, furnished with colonial style amenities and modern facilities such as en-suite bathroom with hot water shower, air-conditioning, phone. There is also a French balcony with a sliding picture-window in each room that offers tourists a chance to observe the water world on the majestic Irrawaddy.

THE SERVICES ON RV PAUKAN 2015

For a luxury living, there are 2 massage rooms on the lower deck offering traditional Burma massage for true relaxation. RV Paukan 2015 also has a roomy stage on the sun deck for onboard activities including cultural performances, an outdoor bar, and lounge. The dining room on the Upper Deck offers a varied menu of both Burmese cuisine and international dishes which are prepared by well-known chefs onboard. Day 01 MANDALAY (SAGAING) – CRUISING TO BAGAN

In the morning, embark the ship at 10.00 hrs at SAGAING jetty. After lunch, continue your cruise to Bagan. Stop at Yandabo-where you will reach in the late afternoon. Yandabo is the name of beautiful pottery village. It is historically recognized for the signing of the Yandabo Treaty which took place under a tree on the riverbank in 1826, between the British and Royal Burmese House. Moor overnight near the village of Shwe Nann Tint.

Day 02 BAGAN (B)

In the early morning, you will sail downstream to Bagan-the World Heritage Site which is located on the banks of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River, in the Mandalay Region of Burma.

The thousands of temples that are spread across the plains of Bagan combine to form one of the richest archaeological sites in Asia and provide views quite unlike anywhere else on earth.

After breakfast, you will visit a typical village to learn about local life. Take time to enjoy stunning views near Bagan at sunrise. You will disembark from the ship at Bagan Aye Yar jetty by 9.30 hrs.

Day 01 MANDALAY (GAWEIN) – MINGUN (L/D)

At 12h00, embark the ship at Gawein jetty. After lunch, you will start to sail to Mingun- a little town along the Ayeyarwady River. Here you will visit Mingun Bell. The bell is housed nearby the Paya in a Zayat, an intricate Burmese style pavilion with a multi tiered roof. The bell measuring almost 4 meters high is the largest working bell in the world.

Continue onto Mingun Pagoda. The Mingun Pagoda is a massive unfinished pagoda built at the end of the 18th century, and was the largest pagoda in the country. Dinner is followed by a Dance and Drama performance by the Mandalay Arts School on the sundeck.  Moor Overnight at a sandbank mid-stream.

Day 02 MINGUN – SAGAING – YANDABO (B/L/D)

In the early morning, sail downstream. On the way, you have a chance to enjoy beautiful sights over the river and observe the daily life of its banks. Take your time to enjoy the sunrise over Sagaing Hill.

After breakfast, go ashore to visit Sagaing – a hill studded with many Pagodas and Monasteries rich in wood carving and religious art.

Stop at Yandabo - where you will reach in the late afternoon. Yandabo is the name of the beautiful pottery village. PAUKAN PRINCESS (RV PAUKAN 2015) POLICY 

1. River Conditions Warning

The Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers are subject to seasonal rises and falls of water level. So that an alternative itinerary will be offered to Passenger in the case of water levels being too high or low.

Published itineraries are indication only and subject to sudden change. In such events alternative itineraries will be provided and we do our best to ensure that if a stop is missed we make up for it with another stop.

The ship’s manager and captain are jointly responsible for passengers’ comfort and safety.

Passengers must accept their decisions and instructions.

2. Deposit

To secure the booking a 30% deposit is required at the time of confirmation. The remaining balance will be made 70 days prior departure date.

If a booking is made less than 70 days, full fare payment must be made within 48 hours.

3. Cancellation Terms

The cancellation notice must be received in writing either by e-mail or fax. It will be effective on the date of receipt. Cancellation charges, per person, are based upon the date of cancellation:

  • Up to 71 days prior to departure: Deposit will be forfeited.
  • From 70-35 days: 50% of cruise fare
  • From 34 days to “no show”: 100% of cruise fare

4. Children Policy

Up to 2 years: Complimentary in the parent/guardian’s cabin.

3-12 Years: if the child stays in the cabin with one of the parents/guardians 50% of the twin-sharing rate. Upon request we can provide an Extra Bed at US$ 90 net per bed/ night.

5. Minimum Occupancy

For all departures should the occupancy be less than 10 passengers for Short Discovery Cruise and 12 passengers for Exploration and Discovery Cruises the Company reserves the right to cancel the cruise up to 60 days prior the departure date. A confirmation notice in writing will be released by the company to all booked clients and/or their agents within the deadline. In case of cancellation an alternative cruise will be offered and if not acceptable all down payments will be immediately refunded.

6. Insurance

We strongly advise travelers to purchase trip cancellation insurance. We also highly recommend guests to get international medical, baggage loss and delay insurance in the case of bad situations. Paukan Cruise will take no responsibility for lost or stolen personal belongings.
