The cruise keeps heading to Bagan. Embarkation at Taung Be village near Bagan. Lunch will be served on board.
In the afternoon, set off for an excursion to Ananda – one of the most marvelous temples in Bagan. Then, explore a lesser - known temple by torchlight. Later, experience the making of the traditional handicraft - lacquer ware.
A special candle - lightning ceremony will be provided after you enjoy the magnificent sunset of Bagan. Dinner will be served on the Observation deck at the Road to Mandalay Grill.
Our morning excursion is up to you. You can explore Old Bagan's temples by bicycle or horse-and-cart, take a temple tour at sunrise or visit a special village. Hot - air balloon ride is also available at an additional cost.
Onboard activities are offered while the ship sails towards Mandalay including cultural lecture, longyi demonstration and a tea break. Alternatively, you can pamper yourself in our amazing spa, work out at the gym or take a swim at the pool on the sundeck.

Let's get ready for a fascinating tour today offering local art and cottage industry experiences. You will have a chance to watch skillful artisans sculpting and carving magnificent marble statues, wood pannels as well as weaving beautiful tapetries. Plus, we will also pay a visit to the open air bronze casting workshop.
Our tour finish at Shwe Kyet Yet village where is home to our private jetty. Back onboard for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will get off the ship and take a short tour around Sagaing. Enjoy wonderful views of the Ayeyarwady River from the Soon U Ponya Shin pagoda and visit Buddhist nunnery.
In the evening, back to the ship for relaxation and enjoy your luxurious dinner and traditional show afterwards.
Wake up early with the yoga session and refreshing treats from our Healthy Juice Bar. Take part in a Buddhist almsgiving ceremony at a small pagoda and experience the village life near our pier.
The ship continues sailing to Ava where we will have a tour around the ancient capital. You can choose to take a traditional horse - cart tour or explore the sights by bike (with or without guide). After that, back on board and keep cruising to Bagan.
During the cruise, attend many interesting activities onboard included lecture about Myanmar culture, demonstration of dressing the traditional longyi or a fortune - telling session.
You can also relax in a treatment at the spa, work out in the gym or swim in the pool on the Observation Deck, one of the largest outdoor spaces of any river cruises in Myanmar.

♦ Excursion to Salay and Countryside
Salay is a peaceful town down the river from Bagan where features a number of beautiful colonial buildings. During the trip, we make a stop in Chauk to visit its vibrant local markets. Upon arrival in Salay, take some time walking around the area, then, hop on a local truck to move to visit an ancient teak monastery. Lunch will be served at a riverside restaurant which was used to be a colonial house. Return to Bagan at dusk. Another option is that you can choose to stay in Bagan, have lunch on board and join other local excursions.
♦ A Day in the Life
Visit a family workshop and learn about the process of making the fermented soybean. You can also visit the neighbor to find out how they make the bamboo fans as well. Then, discover the exciting morning market at Nyaung U and try some local snacks.
♦ Village Visit and Social Contribution
Take part in one of Belmond’s Social Contribution Projects in Taung Be village. Joining this project, you will have an opportunity to do some voluntary works. For further information, speak to our reception.
♦ Meditation at a Pagoda
Join in a meditation session at a pagoda of Bagan to have a healthy mind and body before returning to the ship for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit Nagayon Temple and the small temple complex of Seinnyet. On the way back to the ship, we will pay a visit to a peaceful village near the river and take part in a special candle - lighting ceremony.

The ship continues sailing to Ava where we will have a tour around the ancient capital. You can choose to take a traditional horse - cart tour or explore the sights by bike (with or without guide). After that, back on board and keep cruising to Bagan.
During the cruise, attend many interesting activities onboard included lecture about Myanmar culture, demonstration of dressing the traditional longyi or a fortune - telling session.
You can also relax in a treatment at the spa, work out in the gym or swim in the pool on the Observation Deck, one of the largest outdoor spaces of any river cruises in Myanmar.
Start your day with a meditation session. Today, we head to Bagan, where about 3000 ancient temples located on the banks of Irrawaddy River.
You can choose among many activities for today excursion from “Introduction to Bagan” exploring temples and history; “A Day in the Life” experiencing the local life, food and markets to “Bagan by Bicycle” (with or without guide).
Before coming back to the ship for lunch, take a stroll around the small village near old Bagan where our Belmond’s private pier located. Pay a visit to the Belmond’s free clinic where the local patients are taken cared of by our onboard doctor.
In the afternoon, admire the beauty of Ananda Temple – one of the most magnificent constructions in Bagan. Then, we move to visit a lesser - known temple by torchlight. When the day comes to an end, contemplate the magnificent moment of the temple plain at dusk.
Return to the ship for a delicious dinner on the Observation Deck of Belmond Road of Mandalay Cruise which will followed by a classic marionette performance.
OPTIONAL: Balloon over Bagan is available at an additional cost. This is a great opportunity for you to admire the temple plain from the bird's eye view at the break of dawn.
This morning, we take a 2 hour drive to visit the sacred mountain of Popa where is the home to 37 Nat spirits (Burmese Gods). En-route, observe how locals produce a potent alcohol spirit and sweet jaggery at a toddy palm plantation.
You can choose to hike up 777 steps to the top of Mt Popa or stay below to discover the village. Lunch is served with stunning panoramic views over the mountain and plains at a nearby resort.
Back to the cruise in the late afternoon and the rest of the day is free at your leisure.
Our morning excursion is up to you. You can explore Old Bagan's temples by bicycle or horse-and-cart, take a temple tour at sunrise or visit a special village. Hot - air balloon ride is also available at an additional cost.
Onboard activities are offered while the ship sails towards Mandalay including cultural lecture, longyi demonstration and a tea break. Alternatively, you can pamper yourself in our amazing spa, work out at the gym or take a swim at the pool on the sundeck.
Dinner will be served onboard with a wide range of gourmet dishes.
Calm your mind with a soothing meditation and yoga session or join in a cooking class during the cruise.
Upon arrival in Mingun, take your excursion options between discover the historical sites nearby or join in a walk through a rural village chatting with local residents.
In the evening, enjoy our interesting Longyi Cocktail Party on the Observation Deck with the guidance to wear the Burmese traditional sarong.
Today, we pay a visit to the former colonial hill station of Maymyo or also known as Pyin Oo Lwin. Take a traditional horse - cart ride around the town and admire it laid - back atmosphere and the beautiful colonial architecture.
After that, visit the bustling local market and enjoy a walk through the National Kandawgyi Botanical Gardens.
Back to the cruise at Shwe Kyet Yet and the rest of the day is at your leisure. Dinner will be served onboard which will then be followed by a traditional entertainment.

BELMOND ROAD TO MANDALAY POLICY
1. Alteration of schedule and cruise itinerary
In spite of the fact that we will do our best to assure that the announced itinerary is followed at the strictest possible level, occasionally, we might have to alter or delay the schedules and itineraries in the last minute due to the uncertainty of local weather and river conditions.
2. Deposit
2.1. For booking with less than 06 cabins
If you book your cabins more than 65 days in advance of the departure date, you are required to deposit 30% of the total charge at the booking time. The remaining amount must be paid within 65 days before the departure date.
For the booking made less than 65 days prior to departure date, you are required to make full payment of the fare within 48 hours.
2.2. For booking from 06 cabins and more
If you book your cabins more than 95 days in advance of the departure date, you are required to deposit 30% of the total charge at the booking time. The remaining amount must be paid within 65 days before the departure date.
If you book your cabins between 94 and 65 days in advance of the departure date, you are required to deposit 50% of the total charge at the booking time. The remaining amount must be paid within 65 days before the departure date.
If you book your cabins less than 65 days in advance of the departure date, you are required to make full payment of the fare within 48 hours.
3. Cancellation by us
Under the circumstance that a cruise cannot be operated for passengers with confirm bookings or departures because the minimum number of passengers for the ship to sail is not satisfied, Belmond Road to Mandalay has the rights to call off the cruise. We will notify the passengers with confirmed booking about the cancellation 50 days in advance. A substitute cruise ship (with parallel itinerary and ship type) or an alternative departure date will be proposed depending on its availability. If the passengers do not agree with the alternative ship or departure, we will make full refund of the deposit amounts upon the demand of the passengers.
4. Cancellation by Customer
If you or any other members of your party want to cancel your booking, you must inform us via fax or email. E-mail cancellation or booking amendments are only effective once re-confirmed by us.
4.1. That person(s) may transfer their place to someone else (introduced by you) and in respect of whom the Lead Passenger will need to give the confirmations and representations not less than 30 days before departure and you pay an amendment fee in accordance with the table below and meet all costs and charges incurred by us and/or incurred or imposed by any of our suppliers.

4.2. If you or other members could not transfer place to someone else. The following cancellation fee will be applied:
Cancellations made 65 days or more before departure: 20% charge of total price

Cancellations made 29 to 10 days prior to departure: 75% charge of total price
Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to departure or no show: 100% charge of total price
*In the event of cancellations, wire fees and credit card commissions will be deducted when calculating refunds.
5. Force Majeure
Unless there are points clearly stated in this policy, we will bear no responsibility of making compensation for you if the fulfillment of our obligations in the contract is influenced by unpredictable or unavoidable events that out of the control of us or the supplier(s). These events include, but is not limited to, war, threat of war, civil conflict, terrorist activity and its consequences or the threat of such activity, riot, the act of any government or other national or local authority including port or river authorities, industrial dispute, lock closure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, chemical or biological disaster, adverse weather, sea, air, ice and river conditions and all similar events.
6. Insurance
We highly recommend that travelers have their trip cancellation covered. We also advise the guests to purchase insurance for medical matters, luggage loss, and delay of the trip in case of unfavorable situations. Belmond Road to Mandalay will not be liable for the loss of personal belongings.
7. Dietary needs
If the guests have exceptional dietary needs, they should contact us 30 days in advance of the departure. The cruise will exert all possible efforts to satisfy the exceptional dietary needs and demands depending on the availability of the goods.
