Mawlaik not only owns a large scale of teak forests but a great number of colonial buildings including ones built by the Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation in the 1920’s and 1930’s . Many constructions from the British ruling are still in use and maintan now such as the governor’s house, the administrative building and the school. Then, we will start crusing back downstream to Monywa.

In the morning, we will visit the river port of Kalewa where trading with India are mainly carried out. Procced to visit the bustling local market and climb up to Shwe Moat Htaw stupa for a great view.

We arrive at Kyidaw this morning and visit the ancient Shwe Za War Yaw monastery with its elaborate wood carvings adorned with glistering gold leaves. The monastery is considered to have one of the oldest and best perserved woodworks in Myanmar. Then, we take a walk through the mesmerizing paddy fields to the village of Kan where we will conitnue to contemplate another outstanding monastery. After that, back to the ship.
We continue to sail upstream to Kyaw Zin and moor here for a night.

At 12h00, embark the ship at Gawein jetty. After lunch, you will start to sail to Mingun- a little town along the Ayeyarwady River. Here you will visit Mingun Bell. The bell is housed nearby the Paya in a Zayat, an intricate Burmese style pavilion with a multi tiered roof. The bell measuring almost 4 meters high is the largest working bell in the world.
Continue onto Mingun Pagoda. The Mingun Pagoda is a massive unfinished pagoda built at the end of the 18th century, and was the largest pagoda in the country. Dinner is followed by a Dance and Drama performance by the Mandalay Arts School on the sundeck. Moor Overnight at a sandbank mid-stream.
In the early morning, sail downstream. On the way, you have a chance to enjoy beautiful sights over the river and observe the daily life of its banks. Take your time to enjoy the sunrise over Sagaing Hill.

This morning, we reach Yandabo village where the Peace Treaty was signed in 1826 putting an end to the first Anglo - Burmese war. Nowadays, the village is well - known for making the fine pottery products. We get off the ship and take a short tour around the area and visit a monastery.
Back to the ship as we keep sailing up the river for the rest of the day. Dock overnight near Myin Mu.

Early this morning, we will move by coach to Monywa and pay a visit to Hpowindaung cave where features a great number of Buddha images and mural paintings. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant in Win Unity Hotel. In the afternoon, we set off to the home of more than 500,000 Buddha statues at Sambuddhai Kat Kyaw Pagoda.
Return to Myin Mu. The ship docks at the bank of the river.

Our first stop is Salay House - an old warehouse in the British time. Then, we take a walk along the main Strand street and explore the local market before paying a visit to Yoke Soun Kyaung Taw Gyi wooden monastery which is considered as the duplicate of the Crown Prince House of Mandalay. Next, we pay a visit to Mann Paya and some beautiful colonial buildings of Salay.

This morning, we will begin our journey in Bagan, one of the most famous destinations in Myanmar. First, we pay a visit to Shwezigon Pagoda where is said to hold the bone and tooth of Gautama Buddha. Then, proceed to the magnificent Htilominlo which was built by King Htilominlo right in the place he was chosen to be a King. The temple features the finest plaster carvings on the arch pediments as well as the murals on the ceiling. On the way back to the ship for lunch, we will stop at Thatbyinnyu Pagoda to take photos.
In the afternoon, you will have a chance to observe the 12th century mural paintings inside the cave temple of Gubyaukgyi. Up next, a sand painting demostration will be provided by a local artist. Afterwards, we discover the next - door temple of Myazedi where to hold both lingustic and historical values. Ananda temple is also a not - to - be - missed site in Bagan. This morning, we will explore some local markets in Bagan where sells many kinds of local products from fabric, longyis to wood and rattan products. Next, you will have many options to choose. First, you can pay a visit to the lacquerware workshop to experience the traditional making process. Or you can choose to explore the temple plain by horse carriage or bicycle. Another option is the incredible hot air balloon ride over Bagan.
Afterwards, back to the ship around noon as it continues to sail.

Here, take your time explore the traditional silk weaving workshop before heading to U Ben Bridge. This is the longest teak bridge in the world as well as a perfect spot to catch the splendid sunset view.

RV PAUKAN 2012 POLICY
1. River Conditions Warning
The Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers are subject to seasonal rises and falls of water level. So that an alternative itinerary will be offered to Passenger in the case of water levels being too high or low.
Published itineraries are indication only and subject to sudden change. In such events alternative itineraries will be provided and we do our best to ensure that if a stop is missed we make up for it with another stop.
The ship’s manager and captain are jointly responsible for passengers’ comfort and safety.
Passengers must accept their decisions and instructions.
2. Deposit
To secure the booking a 30% deposit is required at the time of confirmation. The remaining balance will be made 70 days prior departure date.
If a booking is made less than 70 days, full fare payment must be made within 48 hours.
3. Cancellation Terms
The cancellation notice must be received in writing either by e-mail or fax. It will be effective on the date of receipt. Cancellation charges, per person, are based upon the date of cancellation:
Up to 71 days prior to departure: Deposit will be forfeited.
From 70-35 days: 50% of cruise fare
From 34 days to “no show”: 100% of cruise fare
4. Children Policy
Up to 2 years: Complimentary in the parent/guardian’s cabin.
3-12 Years: if the child stays in the cabin with one of the parents/guardians 50% of the twin-sharing rate. Upon request we can provide an Extra Bed at US$ 90 net per bed/ night.
5. Minimum Occupancy
For all departures should the occupancy be less than 10 passengers for Short Discovery Cruise and 12 passengers for Exploration and Discovery Cruises the Company reserves the right to cancel the cruise up to 60 days prior the departure date. A confirmation notice in writing will be released by the company to all booked clients and/or their agents within the deadline. In case of cancellation an alternative cruise will be offered and if not acceptable all down payments will be immediately refunded.
6. Insurance
We strongly advise travelers to purchase trip cancellation insurance. We also highly recommend guests to get international medical, baggage loss and delay insurance in the case of bad situations. Paukan Cruise will take no responsibility for lost or stolen personal belongings.
