It is required to get a visa if you want to come to Myanmar for traveling or businesses. Now, before travelling to Myanmar, tourists and business travelers are eligible to apply for a Myanmar E - Visa online instead of a traditional one with simple requirements and straightforward procedures.
» IMPORTANT NOTE:
The pilot program of visa exemption for citizens from Japan and South Korea has been extended until 30th Sept 2020. Passport holders from these countries are allowed to enter and exit Burma at all international checkpoints. The length of stay can go up to 30 days.
For passport holders from Italy, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Russia, China, you can apply for MYANMAR VISA ON ARRIVAL at Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw international airport at the cost of $50 USD. The validity can last up to 30 days from the date of entry and cannot be extended.
From 1st Jan 2020 (for 3 year trial), 5 countries of Austria, Hungary, New Zealand, Czech and Luxembourg are added in the list of countries that can be applied for Myanmar visa on arrival as well.

MYANMAR EVISA FOR FOREIGN TRAVELERS
It is required to get a visa if you want to come to Myanmar for traveling or businesses. Now, before travelling to Myanmar, tourists and business travelers are eligible to apply for a Myanmar eVisa online instead of a traditional one. Website to apply Myanmar eVisa: https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/
The whole process of a Myanmar visa online can be absolutely completed online which makes it much more convenient.
» Things You Need to Prepare to Apply E Visa for Myanmar Are:
- A passport with at least 6 months of validity.
- A color photo sized 4.8cm x 3.8cm, taken within the past 3 months.
- Credit cards of American Express, JCB, Visa and Master for processing payment ($50USD for tourist visa/$56USD for express tourist visa/ $70USD for Bussiness visa)
- An invitation letter from a local company in Myanmar with which you are about to partner (For Business visa)
MYANMAR EVISA PROCESSING PROCEDURES
After submiting all the necessary information on the offical Myanmar evsia website and the payment made successfully, an acknowledgement letter will be sent to your email in within 1 hour (note: this is not a comfirmed visa letter). This paper is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. If it is expired, you will have to do the process all over again.
Next, your application will undergo an approval process which takes about 3 working days (Myanmar time, except for weekends and public holidays). If you apply for the express visa, the process only takes 24 hours.
Then, when you get your approval letter, present it at the checkpoints for a sticker on your passport.
Myanmar tourist visa gives you 28 days staying in Myanmar and can be extend for 14 days with selected countries (see the list below). Business visa has the validity of 70 days.
Passport holders with Myanmar eVisa can enter the country through:

- Mandalay International Airport
- Nay Pyi Taw International Airport
- Tachileik Land Border Checkpoint
- Myawaddy Land Border Checkpoint
- Kawthaung Land Border Checkpoint

- Rih Khaw Dar Land Border Checkpoint
For travelers who arrive at other airports or for different purposes, you should summit a traditional Myanmar visa application.
